The first PFL Europe event of 2024 is one which ended in controversy.
Taking place in Paris, there was a lot of excitement with Cedric Doumbe featuring in the main event against Baysangur Chamsoudinov.
Both men were putting their undefeated records on the line in a contest which was heating up.
After Chamsoudinov dominated on the mat in the opening round, Doumbe began the second period strong where he landed a number of strikes. However, the fight was brought to an abrupt end in the third round by referee Marc Goddard who stopped the contest after Doumbe signalled that he was suffering a problem with his foot.
Unfortunately for Doumbe he is no longer an undefeated fighter, but this loss should not be one which will stop his rise through the ranks.
