Frank Ryan (1936–2024)
Sport: American Football
Legacy: A three-time Pro Bowl quarterback, Ryan led the Cleveland Browns to their last NFL Championship in 1964. Known for his intelligence - he earned a Ph.D. in mathematics—Ryan was a unique figure in the league, balancing athletic excellence with academic achievements.
Mario Zagallo (1931–2024)
Sport: Football
Legacy: Zagallo was the first person to win the FIFA World Cup as both a player (1958, 1962) and a coach (1970). A Brazilian football legend, his tactical acumen and passion for the sport shaped Brazil’s golden era, cementing his place as one of the game’s all-time greats.
Franz Beckenbauer (1945–2024)
Sport: Football
Legacy: Known as "der Kaiser," Beckenbauer revolutionized the sweeper role and was a two-time Ballon d'Or winner. He captained West Germany to victory in the 1974 World Cup and later managed the team to another title in 1990. His influence extended beyond the pitch, with contributions to football administration.
JPR Williams (1949–2024)

Andreas Brehme (1960–2024)

Jerry Grote (1943–2024)

Joe Kinnear (1946–2024)

Legacy: A tough and reliable defender, Kinnear made his mark with Tottenham Hotspur and later managed teams like Wimbledon, where he became known for his no-nonsense style and ability to inspire underdog teams to punch above their weight.
Ken Holtzman (1945–2024)

Raman Subba Row (1928–2024)

Legacy: Subba Row played for England in the late 1950s and early 1960s, excelling as a top-order batsman. His Test average of 46.85 is exceptional and he scored three centuries and four fifties. He was a key figure in England's Ashes success and later contributed to the sport as an administrator and advocate for its development.
Peter Oosterhuis (1948–2024)
Sport: Golf
Legacy: Oosterhuis was one of Europe’s most consistent golfers in the 1970s, representing the continent in multiple Ryder Cups. After retiring, he became a beloved commentator, bringing insight and passion to golf broadcasts.
