Eddie Hearn has given an update on the negotiations and location for Leigh Wood's WBA 'regular' featherweight title defence against mandatory challenger Michael Conlan.
Matchroom won the purse bid to stage the fight at the start of November and a decision is imminent regarding a venue for the contest.
When speaking exclsively to DAZN last week about the fight, Hearn revealed Belfast, Nottingham and a St. Patrick's Day date at Madison Square Garden (MSG) were all under consideration at one point.
However, there are now just two venues which are being looked at as potential locations for the fight.
"For me it’s a great buzz to put on a St Patrick's Day event in New York for a fight like that in the big room at the garden, that will probably be my first choice," Hearn said.
"But I do know we can fill the City Ground in Nottingham, so it will be between the City Ground and Madison Square Garden.
"We will make a decision in the next week."
