With the dust settled on England's Euro 2024 final disappointment against Spain, there is now a look towards the future.
Gareth Southgate is no longer the manager with current under-21s coach Lee Carsley taking charge on an interim basis while the search for a replacement continues.
But it is not only the coaching setup which will be undergoing changes, there are also likely to be changes on the pitch.
One player who was a frequent topic of discussion amongst England fans during the European Championship was captain Harry Kane who struggled in Germany.
This has led to some questions over his future with the Three Lions and whether he can still play a major role at the World Cup in 2026.
One player who has been knocking on the door for an England call-up is Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke, who scored 19 Premier League goals for Bournemouth last season before making the move to North London.
Speaking in an interview with Betway, former England striker Alan Shearer believes Solanke could be the player to replace Kane up-front, but he is expecting the current England captain to put up a fight for the position which he has made his own.
"There was pressure on Harry Kane at the Euros, I know there were six guys that won the Golden Boot with three goals, but he was one of them despite him not being anywhere near his best, so he won't be ready to give up the England shirt anytime soon but with lots of international football to come, whoever wants to try and take the England shirt away from Harry Kane will have to go out and score goals," Shearer said.
"Solanke is someone who can do that and he has a great opportunity to do it now at Spurs."
England return to action on September 7 when they travel to the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Nations League.
