The Argentine is in impressive form.

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes that Alejandro Garnacho is trying too hard to be like Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garnacho has been recreating Ronaldo’s celebrations since he broke into the first team, including last weekend after his brilliant strike against Everton.

However, ahead of United’s fixture at Newcastle this weekend, he urged the Argentine winger to focus on making the best of himself.

He said to Paddy Power: “Alejandro Garnacho needs to just be himself and play his own game. He’s never going to be Cristiano Ronaldo!

“He’s not going to score a wonder goal every week, but he has to be a seven or eight out of ten each week – he can do it.

“Everyone knows he has great quality, but you can’t score a wonder goal one week and then not be at the races the next week – it's not how it works.

“He has to get his head down and work for the team, and himself. He’s still young and there’s massive room for him to grow but he can't live off his wonder goal.”
