Former Premier League winner and Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has warned his old team of burnout as they chase their first Premier League title in 20 years.
Mikel Arteta's team are top of the table and have displayed real steel and tenacity. The Gunners are also at the top of their UEFA Champions League group and have already qualified for the knockout stages.
With Arsenal challenging in various competitions, Petit has noted that burnout could be a critical factor through the winter and into the new year.
The Frenchman was part of Arsenal's double-winning campaign in 1997-98 and is acutely aware of the challenges. Speaking to LordPing, Petit said, "Arsenal are doing well. My main worry is players burning out by not getting enough rest because that has cost Arsenal."
"Arsenal are not at their best. Some important players look tired; they need to add more quality."
