Barcelona begins the defence of their UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) title against 2006/07 winners Arsenal in a big group stage clash at the start of the 2021/22 tournament, which airs on DAZN and the DAZN YouTube channel.
The Spaniards ended Lyon's five-year grip on the trophy after beating Chelsea 4-0 in last season's final and will be hoping this can be the start of an era of dominance.
Barcelona qualified for the 2021/22 group stage as a result of being the reigning champions and are looking to become the just the fourth club to successfully defend their title after Sweden's Umea, French powerhouse Lyon and Vfl Wolfsburg of Germany. However, opening games don't get much tougher than Arsenal.
The Gunners finished third in the Women's Super League last season, but their last appearance in European competition was in August 2020 where they lost to Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals.
Arsenal have reached the last eight more than any other team in the UEFA Women's Champions League and are looking like an exciting outfit under new manager Jonas Eidevall. The Swede guided his team through qualifying with relative ease following a 4-0 win against Kazakhstan's Okzhetpes, a 3-1 first round victory over PSV and a 7-0 aggreate win over the Czech Republic's Slavia Prague.
Will the Blaugranes get their UWCL title defence off to the perfect start or will Arsenal make a statement?
