Bruno Fernandes isn't having any criticism of Alejandro Garnacho, and believes the Argentina international will win back Manchester United fans with his performances.
Both players scored in the club's 3-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday, to send interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy off with a victory before Ruben Amorim takes over.
While there was a full-throated celebration from captain Fernandes, Garnacho seemed unusually subdued after his finish, amid what has felt like mounting criticism over his play.
But speaking afterwards, the Portuguese star backed his team-mate to prove the doubters wrong, as United seek to move on from the Erik ten Hag era at Old Trafford.
"Garnacho scored a banger but didn't celebrate like he should because he thinks he has lost faith from some fans," Fernandes told BBC Sport.
"I told him people will always moan but lots of people like you and enjoy what you do. I told him to celebrate, it was something special.
"He is a special player, we have difference makers. They are the ones who win us games. We want them to score every game but that isn't going to happen."
United return to action after the international break for Amorim's first game, against newly promoted Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
