The midweek action saw Leeds and Sheffield United start to form a small gap at the top of the Championship table, but the chasing pack are still not far behind.
At the other end, Hull's continued slump sees them hit the bottom of the table, while Plymouth continued their losing run.
Here's a look at this week's biggest story in the division and a look ahead to the weekend's action.
The talking point
Another week, another managerial casualty but not one many fans would have seen coming - especially at The New Den. Club legend Neil Harris is to leave the club after this weekend's game against Middlesbrough with the Lions still sitting comfortably in midtable and with Harris actually being nominated for November's manager of month.
In a statement, the South-East London club said: “At the start of 2024, we found ourselves in a tough spot. Neil came in and, along with his coaching staff galvanised the squad. Through action and leadership, he led Millwall on a magnificent run of form, ensuring our return to Championship football this season.
“I want to thank Neil for all his efforts since returning to the Club and we will be forever grateful to him for that.
“After discussions with Neil in recent days, he felt it was the right time to step down from the role following the Middlesbrough game and I have accepted his decision."
Mark Robins is currently the bookies favourite to replace Harris, with Wycombe's Matt Bloomfield and former Preston boss Ryan Lowe also in the running.
The pick of the weekend
Sheffield United vs. Plymouth Argyle
A game that affects both ends of the table, with Wayne Rooney feeling the pressure at Home Park and now facing a daunting trip to league leaders Sheffield United.
Argyle have lost three matches on the bounce and are one place off the bottom of the table, but face a Blades side who have still only lost twice this campaign and sit a point off Leeds as we head into the weekend's fixtures.
Mike Phelan has been brought into Rooney's staff, and will add some more coaching experience to Rooney's set-up, but a heavy defeat here could see the former England star facing some uncomfortable days as Pilgrams boss.
