Chelsea came away 3-2 winners against visiting Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, but the Blues could be considered fortunate to have walked away with all three points.

In addition to seeing midfielder Conor Gallagher sent off at the stroke of halftime, Chelsea were outpossessed and outchanced by their visitors.

Despite their statistical advantage, Brighton were unable to keep the Blues from finiding the back of the net three times. Manager Roberto di Zerbi lamented his side's lack of killer instinct and pointed to three instances that allowed Chelsea to capitalise and ultimate win the match.

"It is hard because I think we played much better than Chelsea," Di Zerbi told BBC Match of the Day. "We made three big mistakes, two set pieces in the first half and we conceded the third goal in an incredible way.

"It was a clear penalty for them [for the game-winner] but we can’t concede a counter-attack in that way. A corner for us. In that way we are young but we need to be more focused in that situation, a set pieces.

"We lost the game from that situation, not from the play because we played a great game. But football is like this."
