If Arsenal can get the best version of Raheem Sterling, Chris Sutton says he could be the difference-maker the North London club need in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

Sterling joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea last week, putting an end to the saga between the 29-year-old and new Blues manager Enzo Maresca, who froze Sterling out of the Chelsea squad ahead of the first match of the campaign.

Now Sterling reunites with Mikel Arteta after the pair worked together at Manchester City from 2015 until Arteta was appointed Arsenal manager at the end of 2019. It was during that time at the Etihad Stadium when Sterling enjoyed some of his most productive seasons, and Sutton believes that it would be a "brilliant piece of business by Arsenal" if Arteta can entice that kind of form out of the England international at the Emirates Stadium.

"I think going to Arsenal is a good move for Raheem Sterling," Sutton told casinoapps.com. "He has that connection with Arteta.

"I think it's a really interesting piece of business, a smart piece of business, and I think there are Arsenal fans out there thinking that the club needed to add a little bit more quality and depth to the wide areas of their squad.

"Arsenal is signing an experienced player. We’ve seen Sterling produce over the years at the highest level, and if Mikel Arteta can get him anywhere near the level he showed at Manchester City, then it’s going to be a brilliant piece of business by Arsenal.

"Could Raheem Sterling be the difference-maker in terms of Arsenal making that next step and trying to finish above Manchester City? We'll have to wait and see."
