Only Real Madrid and Barcelona could prise Cole Palmer away from Chelsea, believes William Gallas, who adds that the Blues should avoid recruiting Mohamed Salah too.
The England international has been in sensational form this term for the London club, helping to secure their return to the upper tiers of the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer, who joined Chelsea from City last year, has come on in leaps and bounds since making the move, and emerged as a cornerstone for the Three Lions to boot too.
Gallas, a two-time top-flight winner with the club, feels that only the interest of two Spanish giants could persuade the attacking midfielder to uproot himself as things stand.
"At the moment, only Real Madrid and Barcelona could tempt Cole Palmer away from Chelsea and I think he would thrive playing his football in Spain," he told Prime Casino.
"That could be three seasons in the future, but I think Chelsea fans should hope that neither of those clubs come in for him any time soon."
Additionally, Gallas believes that the club should stay clear of Reds winger Salah, who previously spent time with the Blues between 2014 and 2016.
The Egypt international's deal expires at Anfield at the close of the current campaign, with much speculation over his future, and has been linked with several suitors.
"I think Chelsea should reject the chance to sign Mohamed Salah as a free agent this summer," Gallas added. "I think he would be a disruption on the squad.
"Chelsea are all learning and growing together and it’s working for Enzo Maresca. They are all part of a generation with no big egos, despite Cole Palmer being the focal point.
"I think bringing in a player like Salah wouldn’t be good for the balance of the squad, despite his form in the Premier League and how it would weaken Liverpool."
