West Ham were left frustrated at the end of their 1-1 draw with visiting Aston Villa on Sunday, as a potential game-winning goal by Tomas Soucek was ruled out just moments beforethe full-time whistle.
It was one of two VAR interventions that ended with disallowed goals for the Hammers, who had to settle for the draw after Michail Antonio's 29th-minute goal was nullified by Nicolo Zaniolo's late equaliser.
Antonio thought he had scored a second just after half-time, but he was ruled to have handled the ball into the net.
Instead of going up 2-0, the Hammers tried unsuccessfully to hold onto their one-goal lead, and at the end of the match several players and manager David Moyes were spotted exchanging words with the officials.
For Moyes, the decisions were all too familiar.
"We've had two calls this week," Moyes told BBC Match of the Day. "One against Freiburg in midweek [in the Europa League] didn't go our way. We've had four handballs this week that didn't go for us.
"It's what VAR do, it's their decision not ours, we can't do anything about it. It's there to do the job."
Regardless of the officiating, Moyes admitted that Villa provided a stern test for his side, whom he praised for their performance.
"In the second half, Villa stepped it up, they were the better team for periods," he said. "I was really pleased with how we performed overall."
