Arne Slot has a big task on his hands as he steps into the huge shoes of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Not only does the incoming manager have to live up to the high standards set by Klopp, but Slot will also have to retool the side to compete with Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.
That may be increasingly tough given Mohamed Salah's unsettled future at Anfield, with the iconic attacker linked with a move away from the club after a prolific run in Liverpool red.
According to former Liverpool midfielder Ditemar Hamann, Salah may prove to be the most challenging item on Slot's to-do list, as the Dutch manager will need to weigh past performances by the 31-year-old with projected future returns.
Additionally, Hamann does not see anyone in the current Liverpool squad that would be able to adequately replace the Egypt international's production.
"Salah has been wonderful for Liverpool, but he’s getting older now," Hamann told Prime Casino. "Can he be that player who makes the difference next season? I’m not sure if he can.
"If Salah moves on, I’m worried that there isn’t a player in the squad that is ready to take on the responsibility of being the main man. I don't see anyone there that can fill his shoes.
"Liverpool have a lot of supporting acts, but they’re not ready to become the leading man. That is key for me.
"Who can come into the team and do what Salah has done for the last seven years? It’s a big challenge to try and find a replacement for him."
