The England international's future in West London is uncertain.

Ivan Toney's future at Brentford has come to the forefront of this summer's transfer window.

Following his omission from the team's squad for their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, it appears Toney's time at Brentford is coming to an end.

Toney only recently returned to football in January after serving a nine month ban for breaches of the FA's player betting rules. He then went on to be a part of England's squad which managed to reach the final of Euro 2024 before losing to Spain.

Rumours are linking Toney to a move to the Saudi Pro League, but there are a number of Premier League clubs which could be a suitable landing spot.

Two of teams which could benefit from Toney's services are Arsenal and Manchester United, but former United striker Dimitar Berbatov explained why Arsenal is a better move for the 28-year-old.

“I think he’s ready for a move to one of the Premier League’s bigger clubs but I don’t think he’ll go to Manchester United because they already have two strikers and they have plenty of attacking options,” Berbatov told Futbin.com.

“Toney to Arsenal? Why not? I think he made the most of his playing time at the Euros and gave everything and the best that he could with such a limited amount of playing time.

"The way he plays the game. The way he moves, scoring goals, taking penalties and taking responsibility means it’s time for the next step but which direction that is we will have to wait and see.”
