The former Red Devils forward was blunt in his assessment.

Manchester United's struggles this season have been echoed by one of their longest-serving players.

Anthony Martial has been with the club since 2015 and he has only scored more than 20 goals in a season once with the Red Devils. The French attacker has failed to break double-digit goals for United since the 2019-20 campaign, and last season he even spent time on loan at Sevilla.

Now 28, Martial is at a crossroads as his time at United is running out but he has reportedly rejected moves from interested clubs outside of England.

For one former Man United star, Martial's tenure at Old Trafford should already be at an end.

Speaking to Footy Accumulators, 1999 treble-winner Dwight Yorke didn't mince words when it came to his assessment of Martial at Old Trafford.

"Martial has been at the club since 2015 and, though he looked promising at the start, he hasn't offered too much," Yorke said.

"Martial is 28 years old, and you don't let players that age go out on loan! That's supposed to be the peak of your career, and no elite team would loan their best players. The moment that happens, the moment your career is in trouble.

"Martial's wage bill is another valid point, but him going out on loan at 28 means he's not good enough!

"There's always a way to get rid of players like that. I understand the wage debate, but there are ways around that. Martial shouldn't be at Man United anymore."
