The Manchester United winger has faced backlash since.

Manchester United manager Erik Tan Hag says winger Antony was wrong to behave in the manner he did at the end of their FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry.

The Championship side came from 3-0 down to force extra time and a penalty shootout against Ten Hag's men, but were beaten in the shootout 4-2.

As the winning penalty was scored, Antony turned to face the Coventry players on the half-way line while cupping his ears in their direction.

The winger's actions drew criticism from fans, players and pundits, including Brentford striker Neal Maupay who posted his thoughts on X.

Now, Antony's manager Ten Hag has weighed in on the situation.

Speaking at Tuesday's press conference, Ten Hag said: "You have not seen the provocation, only the reaction, but he should not do it.

"He was [provoked] and should not react like this.

"We lost control for 20 minutes and were very lucky in the end but we made it to the final. That is a huge achievement."
