Erik ten Hag has told Manchester United's critics to "judge us at the end of the season" after they played out a madcap 3-3 draw with Porto in the UEFA Europa League.
The Red Devils raced into an early 2-0 lead through goals from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund early on at Estádio do Dragão, before an all-too-familiar capitulation.
Bruno Fernandes was sent off for the second straight game after a reckless challenge, and only through Harry Maguire's injury-time header did United salvage a point.
Despite another performance that exposed the flaws and weaknesses of his side however, Ten Hag called on critics to wait before they pass judgement.
“Don’t judge us in this moment," the Dutchman said after the full-time whistle. "I judge us at the end of the season.
"We are in the process. Just wait. We have to develop this team. We will work and continue. We will fight.”

Ten Hag's hopes that he may get to the end of the current campaign appear to be fanciful given United's current troubles, with reports he has this week to save his job.
The Red Devils next face Aston Villa in the Premier League, with the latter riding high after a history-making 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
