Everton's four-match league winning streak came to an end over the weekend, but they'll try to start a new run when they host Manchester City on Wednesday.
The Toffees fell 2-1 at Spurs on Saturday in a match that manager Sean Dyche called "outstanding" despite the defeat. While the result didn't go their way, Dyche felt that his team put in a performance they could "take pride in."
Now they meet a City side looking to get back in among the front-runners as they return from their successful trip to the FIFA Club World Cup six points back of league leaders Arsenal.
The Sky Blues weren't exactly setting the league alight with their results of late — they had just one Premier League victory from their five matches prior to leaving for the Club World Cup.
Regardless, City will be eager to make up the lost ground, and a resurgent Everton side will be sure to do their best to delay they Sky Blues' attempted march back to the top of the table.
