Chelsea play a resurgent Everton on Sunday.

Ruud Gullit is fully aware of what it takes to manage Chelsea in the Premier League but that hasn’t stopped the Dutchman from wanting his former club to lose to Everton this weekend.

After joining Cheslea as a player in 1995, Gullit made his way to the dugout the following year, but he left the London club in 1998 after being replaced by Gianluca Vialli.

Despite his exit from the club, Gullit is remembered fondly by Chelsea fans for his contribution to the London club's efforts to become a top side in England.

Chelsea go to Goodison Park this weekend needing to win after. Tough start to the season but Everton’s situation with their ten point deduction for breaching finance rules has led Gullit to root for Sean Dyche’s side.

“I want Everton to stay in the Premier League, and I wouldn't mind if they got a result against Chelsea,” said Gullit when speaking to GamblingZone

“I say that only due to Everton's situation, though. I'm still a massive Chelsea supporter and I want them to win. However, I have sympathy for Everton, and I want them to stay up.

“I want Everton to win. I'm sorry to all the Chelsea fans. I like Dyche. I'd like to see Everton stay in the Premier League. It's a tough one as I'm such a huge fan of Chelsea.”
