Arne Slot has massive shoes to fill when he takes over as Liverpool manager next month.
The Dutch coach will succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, with Klopp having led the Reds to titles in the Premier League, FA Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Champions League during his near-decade in charge of Liverpool.
Slot will now step into Klopp's place with sky-high expectations on his shoulders, and retired former Liverpool player Fernando Morientes believes living up to Klopp's standards will be the biggest test for the new manager.
"The challenge is that Klopp has been at Liverpool for so long now, so to come in as the new coach and rise to that challenge will be really hard," he said.
"Slot will want to make sure that Liverpool can still grow and maintain the level of demand and greatness that has been established. But I think he’ll cope and the club will remain great."
Morientes was speaking on behalf of BoyleSports, who offer the latest Champions League betting.
