Alan Smith believes Erik ten Hag will see out the season as Manchester United boss, despite the constant speculation around his job.
The Dutchman was expected to be replaced by the new United shareholders this summer, but after the FA Cup win in May, the club stuck by Ten Hag and has since signed a new contract at Old Trafford.
Speaking exclusively to DAZN via aGamble.com, Smith thinks the issue can now be put to one side, and United look to be sticking by their current boss.
"I think so, and I think the club in this situation, you would hope that they wouldn’t give in during the transfer window to bring in the players that he actually wants, so long-term he has to be there.
"If we go down that route and get someone else in, he will get rid of another 7 or 8 players all over again."
This weekend, United hosted Liverpool at Old Trafford, looking to bounce back after the late defeat to Brighton last time out.
