The future of the Manchester United manager's position remains a hot topic following Erik ten Hag's disappointing campaign at the helm.
The Dutchman is under huge pressure amid speculation he could be replaced in the summer with the likes of Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate linked with the post.
Ten Hag is the latest manager to try and fill the massive shoes left by Sir Alex Ferguson after his retirement, but former Premier League gaffer Gus Poyet is in no doubt who the club's best boss has been since the Scotsman called it a day in 2013.
Speaking exclusively to DAZN courtesy of Free Bets, Poyet praised the work that one former United manager did during his time at the club.
He said: "I'm going to say this now loud and clear. The best manager since Sir Alex Ferguson was Jose Mourinho.
"The best coach out of all of them since Sir Alex, was Jose. He wasn't there that long and won two cups. And Manchester United was a winning team. They need to win.
"Social media can be so negative, so many opinions, but Jose was spot on there. He didn't win at Spurs because he was sacked before the final. Had he been there, Tottenham could have had another trophy in their cabinet."
