Former Chelsea defender Emmanuel Petit would like to see his club sign Real Madrid forward Rodrygo in the summer.
The curtain has finally come down on what has been a season to forget at Stamford Bridge with no silverware and only managing to qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Off the pitch has also been chaotic with Mauricio Pochettino lasting just one season with the club before leaving at the end of the current season with Leicester City's Enzo Maresca set to take the reins.
One area where Chelsea struggled was up front with striker Nicolas Jackson failing to make an impact, and now with the strongly rumoured arrival of Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid, Petit believes Rodrygo could be a suitable strike partner for Jackson during the 2024/25 campaign.
"I think Chelsea should sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid to help Nicolas Jackson next season," Petit said when speaking on behalf of BoyleSports, who offer the latest Champions League betting.
"With Mbappe arriving next season, one of Real’s big stars are going to be out of the XI, so I think this one makes sense for both parties.
"Real Madrid could get a big fee and he will also be great for Jackson, although he is still young."
Rodrygo is currently preparing for Real Madrid's clash with Borussia Dortmund in Saturday's Champions League final at Wembley Stadium, and the Brazilian has played a vital role in his team's European exploits this season scoring five goals in his 12 Champions League appearances.
