Former Chelsea centre-back Frank Leboeuf has hailed the recent form of Blues' defenders Malo Gusto, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile.
The French trio were part of the Chelsea team who impressed in last weekend's 1-1 draw away at champions Manchester City, with Disasi winning man of the match for his performance up against Erling Haaland, and all three are expected to play a part in Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.
World Cup winner Leboeuf has been impressed by his fellow countrymen and told BetVictor he believes the team will continue to benefit from their displays.
“I love Chelsea’s French defenders; they are playing so well at the moment." Leboeuf said.
Malo Gusto, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile are all such hard workers. Gusto caught my eye at right-back against Manchester City, he was outstanding! He is so quick and he dealt with everything that came his way.
“I have known about Disasi and Badiashile for a while because I followed them at Monaco and I was happy when Chelsea signed them. Alongside Thiago Silva they will learn and gain so much experience quickly. They are still very new to the Premier League so they are going to make mistakes, but so does everyone, it is part of the game.
“They will all grow in this Chelsea team and continue to build confidence and experience. I have no doubts about any of them, and at some point they will have Wesley Fofana joining them again as well. Chelsea will certainly reap the benefits of having French defenders in their team again!”
