England head into October's international fixtures still under the charge of interim head coach Lee Carsley.
Carsley got off to the perfect start as Three Lions boss, with wins over Ireland and Finland last month and remains in the frame to land the job on a permanent basis.
However, speaking exclusively to DAZN, thanks to AceOdds, former England striker Michael Owen has named his ideal choice for national team boss, with two names at the top of his list.
"I've said before that I think Eddie Howe is an amazing coach," Owen said.
"He has all the credentials for an England manager, the way he speaks, he's in control, he's articulate, and he's a very good manager. I think someone like that would be absolutely perfect for England. However, he's in a job and it's very unlikely.
"Of the people available, you're looking obviously, Lee Carsley. He's got the role at the moment. You're looking at potentially someone like Graham Potter, who's done the hard yards and been very successful. I would never judge somebody who's done a few months at Chelsea because that's just virtually impossible as things stand to manage. as lots of other great managers have shown. I still think he's got a lot to offer.

"And then there's another sort of younger or not necessarily younger but more unproven, they've got question marks by the name. The likes of the Lampards, the Gerrards, and people like that, that maybe are not on the up let's say in terms of the image from the public but absolutely learning their trade and have done great things in the past and understand the whole culture of that. If you wanted to go for an ex-player, then players like that could come into the equation.
"I say my ideal would be Eddie Howe but that's probably unrealistic so my next realistic choice would probably be Graham Potter."
England resume their Nations League campaign tonight when they host Greece at Wembley.
