Liverpool have yet to make a signing during the summer transfer window, instead electing to stand pat with their current squad as manager Arne Slot puts his stamp on the side.
The Reds have seen a few players depart, but for the most part the squad remains the same as the one that finished third in the Premier League in Jurgen Klopp's final season in charge at Anfield.
While some pundits are questioning Liverpool's lack of movement on the transfer front, Mark Lawrenson isn't among them.
The former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender believes Slot has enough talent to work with and doesn't think the club should bring in anyone new just for the sake of it.
“Liverpool not signing anyone isn’t a problem," Lawrenson told Paddy Power. "Arne Slot has loads of players to play with, which you can tell by looking at the quality of the players on the bench at Ipswich [in Liverpool's first match of the season].
"Some of the younger players like Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones, you’d argue that they deserve to be in the first team, but you can see what the manager is doing with starting the more experienced players and then bringing the kids on.
“People have this thing that teams have to spend money on players, but Liverpool already have loads of players, so unless they are going to bring someone in who is going to replace one of the starters, I just don’t see anyone new coming in.”
