Manchester United head into the FA Cup Final looking to salvage something from a season where they've finished in their lowest-ever Premier League position.
Erik ten Hag's job is under huge pressure and not even an unlikely win against rivals Manchester City at Wembley could save his job, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe ready to replace the Dutchman.
The situation is a far cry from United's heyday under Sir Alex Ferguson and former goalie Fabien Barthez, believes the club is lacking the same feel to the one he left behind in 2004.
He said: "Given what a club like Manchester United represents, it’s tough to see, but it’s been tough ever since Alex Ferguson left the club.
"It doesn’t feel like they have the same soul as before, so it’s a bit of a pity for football and for the fans. I still follow Manchester United, and it’s a shame to see, but we’ve witnessed the [Sir Alex] Ferguson effect.
"For me, as a person and as a manager, he’s unrivalled."
Fabien Barthez was speaking on behalf of Official UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League partner, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, as part of the Enterprise ‘Rent-A-Player’ competition in Toulouse. Discover more at www.enterprise.co.uk/uel
