Gareth Southgate will leave his role as England manager following Euro 2024 after eight years in charge of the national side.
That’s the opinion of Jamie O’Hara who believes England will look for a new face when the summer spectacular is over next year.
Southgate’s reign has been largely impressive, and he’ll be hoping to go one step further in 2024 after the heartbreak of missing out on Euro 2020 after losing on penalties to Italy in the final.
Southgate's young England side were also impressive at the Qatar World Cup and their exit to France could be the platform to push them on at the Euros.
“I think Southgate will go after the Euros regardless of whether we win it,” said O’Hara when speaking to Grosvenor Sport.
“His time will be up, and it will be time for him to move on. If he wins the Euros, you would say that he has been a huge success in also reaching a Euros final and a World Cup semi-final and quarter-final.
“I think he has had his chance, and you would have to say that with the opportunities he has had so far, he’s failed.”
