It has been a long wait for a trophy.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Louis Saha says he is "baffled" by the lack of success the club has had.

Spurs have not lifted a major trophy since 2008, when they beat Chelsea 2-1 in extra time to win the League Cup.

Tottenham have since reached the League Cup final on three occasions and a Champions League final, losing all four games.

Despite the wait for a trophy, Saha believes manager Ange Postecoglou is still the right man to lead the club.

Speaking to CSDB.gg, Saha said: "Something needs to be changed and it’s to do with the philosophy and the consistency.

"I’m still baffled that it hasn’t been fixed because the club has always had the right ambition but it always ends the same way, it’s really strange.

"Ange Postecoglou looks like a manager that has got all that it takes to improve Tottenham into trophy winners.

"Tottenham need a manager like him because it’s been such a challenge to find success at the club and I can’t put my finger on it.

"You can change the players and the manager but there is something that isn’t quite right."

Tottenham begin their Premier League campaign away to Leicester City on Monday, August 19.
