Former World Cup winner and Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has advised his old club to add players in January.
The Gunners are top of the Premier League, and after going so close to the league title last season, they will want to take that final step.
Arsenal strengthened in the summer with the acquisitions of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and David Raya. But Petit feels they need more if they are to challenge Man City.
Speaking to LordPing, the Frenchman said, " I still believe that Arsenal need to sign two or three more players if they want to become champions."
However, Petit did acknowledge the difficulty of signing players in January; "But they won’t be able to get them in the January window because clubs don’t want to sell their best players halfway through the season."
Nevertheless, Petit did back Edu and Mikel Arteta to bring in the right players and stick to their plan. Petit said, "Arteta and the board are maybe copying the same approach in the transfer market as Liverpool and Manchester City, where they are waiting to sign the right players."
