The French claimed third place at UEFA Women's Euro 2022, and although they are sure to be disappointed by the narrow defeat in the semi-finals that kept them from playing for a trophy, their progress at that tournament and their results in the months leading up to the 2023 WWC are all signs that the side is heading in the right direction.
Now they headline a Group F that also includes Brazil, Jamaica and Panama. The Brazilians, ranked eighth in the world to France's fifth, are the biggest threat to take first place in the group from the European side.

What stadiums will France play in at Women's World Cup 2023?
Sydney Football Stadium
The Sydney Football Stadium is the smaller Sydney venue being used for the tournament with a capacity of 42,512.
The stadium is a home to a number of teams including the Sydney Roosters of the National Rugby League, the New South Wales Waratahs of the Super Rugby and A-League side Sydney FC.
The venue will host a number of group games during this year's tournament along with a Round of 16 match.
Lang Park
Brisbane's Lang Park has a 52,263 capacity and is no stranger to hosting major sporting events.
In addition to numerous group stage matches, Lang Park will also be where the third place playoff is contested on August 19.
