Mbappe had an eventful night against Austria.

Kylian Mbappe had a game to remember against Austria at Euro 2024 on Monday, but not necessarily for all the right reasons.

The France striker caused Austria problems all evening, and it was his cross that was turned into his own net by Max Wober for the game’s only goal.

However, Mbappe was guilty of missing the game’s best chance when one-on-one with Austria goalkeeper Patrick Pentz.

And then to add insult to injury, Mbappe then suffered a broken nose when attempting to head a cross towards goal.

The injury to his nose ended his involvement in the match, and has left question marks over his availability for France’s next group match against the Netherlands.

The French Football Federation [FFF] say a mask will be made for Mbappe should he play, and provided a short update on his injury.

"Kylian Mbappe suffered a broken nose during the second half of the Austria v France match this Monday in Duesseldorf," the FFF said.

"He has returned to the base camp of the French team.

"He will undergo treatment in the coming days, without undergoing surgery immediately."
