Frank Leboeuf sees a little bit of Darwin Nunez in Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson joined Chelsea ahead of last season after starting his career in Spain, and while he scored 14 times in the Premier League in his debut campaign, he still drew criticism for going long periods without production.
Leboeuf feels there is a parallel between Jackson and Liverpool's Nunez, who went through similar dry spells in his first two years at Anfield.
Like Nunez, Leboeuf feels that Jackson has the tools to become a more impactful player all over the pitch for Chelsea.
"When I see Jackson he reminds me of Darwin Nunez, who struggled at Liverpool but stepped up when Mohamed Salah went to AFCON," Leboeuf told Instant Casino. "They are the type of player who can be very clumsy but give their best for the club.
"I would encourage Nicolas Jackson to keep on working hard because we can say you can, you can see that every game that he plays he works very hard both going forward and working defensively.
"Of course he is a striker so he needs to score. But I see other things that people will only want to see statistics won’t realize."
