Former Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville compared Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold to Kevin De Bruyne and David Beckham.
Neville was suggesting that Alexander-Arnold was close to both the Belgian and Englishman in terms of his passing range.
The Liverpool man has established himself as sui generis on the right-side of Jurgen Klopp’s defence, and there have been suggestions he could be moved into midfield in the long term.
De Bruyne and Beckham are famous for their ability not to just spot a pass, but to make it, and speaking to Sky Bet, Neville explained his thoughts.
He observed: “I’d put you in the same category as Kevin de Bruyne and David Beckham in terms of use of the ball, I have never seen anything like it, I don’t know how you do it.
“I have no idea how you deliver the ball, how you do [so] from deep, from high up the pitch, from when you’re in midfield and the passes you play.”
