The England captain was sidelined during the penalty shootout.

Harry Kane is "fine" after substituting out of England's Euro 2024 quarter-final match against Switzerland.

England advanced to the semi-finals after topping the Swiss in a penalty shootout, but Kane was not on the pitch for the spot-kicks.

The Three Lions' captain was removed from the match in the 109th minute by manager Gareth Southgate and replaced by Ivan Toney, who later stepped up and converted his penalty as England were perfect in the shootout.

After the match, Kane addressed any concerns that may have stemmed from his late exit.

"I'm good," Kane told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I had double cramp in my calf.

"Penalties, it is like for like because Ivan [Toney] is incredible. I will be fine."

With England now one step away from their second straight appearance in a Euro final, Kane noted that the team now have extra motivation as Southgate celebrated 100 games in charge on Saturday.

"I have spoken before and there is a lot of talk that comes with being England manager," Kane said. "Even today, switching the formation to something we have played before and we felt comfortable doing that.

"One hundred games is some achievement and it will be 101 on Wednesday and hopefully we can make it 102 come the end of next week."
