Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknap has backed Phil Foden to star in a 2-0 win over Chelsea this weekend.
Foden has been in exceptional form this season and he now looks to be one of the first names on the team sheet for Pep Guardiola.
City are looking to secure yet another Premier League title but they are dealing with fierce competition from both Arsenal and Liverpool.
A match-up with Chelsea is traditionally a tough fixture for any side, but they have continued to struggle with Mauricio Pochettino, whose job could be under threat if he fails to secure European football next season.
Speaking to BetVictor, Redknapp thinks City’s form is too good for Chelsea to be a problem.
He said: “Here we go, the big one! I keep saying it, Manchester City are really finding some form. Even last week against Everton, it was a frustrating game, but they never panicked and eventually got their goals. Any team that can bring on Kevin De Bruyne from the bench is some side!
“Chelsea got the win over Crystal Palace on Monday, but I can’t say they blew me away! Mauricio Pochettino won’t care one bit though, wins are all that matters at this stage. Cole Palmer again caught my eye, and it will be interesting to see him go back to City here.
“I just can’t see this Chelsea side going to Manchester and having enough to hurt City. City look too strong for most sides in Europe at the moment and I can see a 2-0 win.”
Discussing Foden, he added: “I keep going on about the lad but Phil Foden is just in fantastic form. What a joy to watch he is.”
