The first Premier League round of 2025 is headlined by one of English football's biggest fixtures as leaders Liverpool host beleaguered Manchester United.

Elsewhere, goals should be on the menu as Newcastle go to Tottenham, while Arsenal are on the South Coast at Brighton.

Speaking to BetVictor, here's Harry Redknapp's predictions for Matchday twenty in the Premier League.

Liverpool 3-0 Manchester United

I’ve got to be honest; this game doesn’t quite jump out the same way it used to given how poor Man United have been. Liverpool keep getting better under Slot and some of the football last week was just sublime. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with Trent Alexander-Arnold though, it’s hard to turn Real Madrid down!

It felt like Man United hit rock bottom against Newcastle. It was just so easy for Newcastle and Ruben Amorim could really do with a good performance on Sunday just to settle everyone.

I felt for Joshua Zirkzee the other night, Amorim needed to tweak the system, but it’s never nice taking someone off that early.

A lot of people are saying it’s not “if” Liverpool win but “by how many.” We’ll see how that unfolds on the pitch; United did go to Manchester City and upset them not long ago, but I can only see a big Liverpool victory here.

One to watch – Mohammed Salah was just sublime against West Ham last week and he’s got an incredible record against Man United.

Tottenham 2-2 Newcastle

Wow, what a game this should be! I can’t miss any Tottenham game right now, they’re just so good to watch for all the right and wrong reasons. They dropped more points against Wolves at home and as much as they’ve got an injury crisis, they need to do better.

Newcastle have been as good as anyone over the last few weeks. I know people will point to Man Utd’s performance, but I thought Newcastle were brilliant in that first half the other night. All of a sudden, they’ve got a real chance of finishing in the top four.

We’re getting plenty of goals here, that’s for sure. I’m going for 2-2 but truth be told, this could be anything!

One to watch – Considering how shaky Tottenham have been at the back, I’d be shocked if Alexander Isak doesn’t find the net.

Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelsea

Crystal Palace have been improving of late and have been climbing their way back up the table after a difficult start. They’ve already frustrated a few of the big sides at Selhurst Park this season and those fans will be up for this.

Talk about a disastrous Christmas for Chelsea! I don’t know what’s happened to them in the last couple of weeks. You’d think if there was one side that could cope with all these games, it would be the team with 40-odd players on their books!

I can see Palace taking points off their London rivals at home, especially if that crowd get behind the team early.

One to watch - He scored the winner last week and if Palace are to create chances, they’ll want Eberechi Eze at his very best.

Brighton 1-2 Arsenal

Brighton have been on a disappointing run of form. They’re currently 10th and they probably feel like they should be higher. They’ll be hoping for a strong end to the season.

Arsenal were terrific against Brentford the other day. I still think Saka is going to be a huge miss but so far, they’ve managed well without him.

I can see Brighton scoring; they’re always threat. However, I do think Arsenal will be too strong for them.

One to watch - What a fantastic prospect Ethan Nwaneri is. I know he’s still so young but I’m sure Mikel Arteta will feel like he can’t leave him on the bench.

Manchester City 2-0 West Ham

Manchester City finally got a win against Leicester but let’s face it, they weren’t great. Nonetheless, it’s important psychologically that they got back to winning ways; Pep will look to use that as a springboard. I’m sure he’ll want to sign a couple of players before the end of the window.

I’ve got to be honest; I thought West Ham were dreadful in that first half against Liverpool. I know Liverpool are a great side, but they just made it so easy for them. Bowen is now injured for a while and that’s a massive blow, this could be a difficult period for the club and for Julen Lopetegui.

This is a game that Man City should win.

One to watch – Erling Haaland has to be licking his lips at the prospect of facing a West Ham backline that was all over the place last week.

Fulham 2-1 Ipswich

This should be a decent game. I’m sure Marco Silva was disappointed not to hold on to all three points, but a draw against Bournemouth is a decent result. They’ve been drawing a lot of late and will want all three points here.

Did anyone see that win over Chelsea coming? What a win, what a night for Ipswich. I think they deserved that too, they’ve been a bit unlucky this season and could easily be on more points than what they’ve got.

I still have to lean towards Fulham, 2-1.

One to watch - I don’t often pick left-backs, but Antonee Robinson is just so crucial to Fulham. I think they’ll keep hold of him at least in this window, but there’s bound to be plenty of interest from other clubs.

Aston Villa 2-0 Leicester

That was a decent point for Aston Villa against Brighton last time out. The crowd will be expecting three more here, but I don’t think Villa have been at their best of late. It’s going to be an interesting second half of the season for them, particularly if they can go far in the Champions League.

Although they lost, I was impressed by Leicester against Man City. That’s probably the best I’ve seen them play for quite a while; it was a performance to build on here. With the window now open, I’m sure Ruud van Nistelrooy would love a few additions, that’s easier said than done though.

I think Villa will be too strong at home and Leicester won’t quite have enough to get something out of the game.

One to watch - Morgan Rogers looks like a quality player. His pace, strength and quality on the ball is very unique, I love watching him play.

Wolves 1-2 Nottingham Forest

Wolves have really picked up under the new boss and are climbing up the table. Matheus Cunha is suspended though, which is a massive blow to them; what a talent he is.

Nottingham Forest just show no signs of slowing down, I’m so impressed by them. They don’t concede much and going forward, they’ll always have a threat with Chris Wood and the service he gets from the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White.

I know they’re at opposite ends of the table, but this will be close. I’m narrowly giving it to Forest.

One to watch - Chris Wood was brilliant at Goodison last time out, what a fantastic finish that was for his goal.

Bournemouth 2-0 Everton

It was more late heroics from Bournemouth last week, the number of points they win late in the game is unbelievable. I love watching them play and I still don’t think they get enough credit, three points here and they’ll be right in the race for the top six.

I know they don’t score a lot of goals, but I think Sean Dyche is doing a terrific job here. There’s been a lot of uncertainty off the pitch, but he’s made this side so hard to beat and we’ve seen that again in recent weeks with draws at Arsenal and Man City.

We all know what Everton will try and do here, but I just think Bournemouth’s intensity and pace will be too much for them.

One to watch - Evanilson has been a great signing so far. I know he’s not scored loads of goals, but his overall play has been superb and I’m sure more goals will come.

Southampton 1-2 Brentford

Southampton obviously now have a new boss and wow, what a big job this is. I don’t think this Southampton side is terrible, it’s just the gap between the Championship and Premier League is so big now. There are some good players here though, Tyler Dibling has been superb.

Brentford are a bit up and down and seem to get the bulk of their points at home. They’ll fancy their chances here though, particularly against a Southampton defence that are hardly resolute.

I’m picking the away win.

One to watch - It has to be Bryan Mbuemo, what a threat he is.
