Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O'Hara believes Gareth Southgate must give Anthony Gordon more Euros minutes in the knockout round.
So far, the Newcastle man has only tasted a couple of minutes of action in Germany, coming on as a late substitute in the goalless draw with Slovenia.
Speaking to Grovesenor Sport, O'Hara shared his shock at Gordon's lack of minutes at the tournament and hailed him as the best left-winger in the country.
“In three games, Gareth Southgate has only given Anthony Gordon two minutes off the bench,” he said.
“He was Newcastle’s best player this season and probably the best left-winger in the country, but he’s been given two minutes! Gordon must be thinking, ‘are you winding me up?’.
“I thought he did well when he came on against Slovenia. He got two minutes plus injury time and he actually made something happen. It comes to something when the best left-winger in the country has only managed to be on the pitch for a total of six minutes across three games – it’s a joke!”
