Former Arsenal, Liverpool, and Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant has made his prediction for the upcoming Manchester City vs. Liverpool match.
The top two teams meet in the Premier League's first match after the international break, and it promises to be a massive 90 minutes for both teams.
Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has branded Liverpool as a serious title contender this season and has now made his call on the game.
Speaking to King Casino Bonus, Pennant said, "'I think Liverpool will fare better against City this time. They'll certainly improve upon their 4-1 drubbing last year."
Pennant continued, "I think Liverpool are more competitive this season."
The former Premier League star also hinted that it might be a good time to play Man City; "I don't think Man City have reached their true heights yet, and it's probably a good time to play them - especially after the 4-4 at Chelsea."
Ultimately, Pennant is backing Pep Gaurdiola's reigning champions over his former club; "I think you've always got to back City. I hate to say it, but you'd have to say they're the favourites, and they'll edge it."
