Joe Cole suggests simple adjustment for Marcus Rashford to improve

A positive attitude and a change in body language may be enough for Marcus Rashford to improve, according to Joe Cole.

Rashford is coming off a season to forget with Manchester United, as the forward scored just eight goals in 43 appearances for the Red Devils.

And while the 26-year-old has seen a slight uptick in production through the early part of the 2024-25 campaign, Rashford has yet to regain the form that made him one of the most feared attackers in the Premier League earlier in his career.

For Cole, who played 56 times for England and has 16 Premier League seasons under his belt, the issue for Rashford may just be as simple as changing his outlook.

“Marcus Rashford is a super talented player and he’s done some incredible things in his career, but you want to improve his body language," Cole told Paddy Power. "I don’t know whether it’s the environment at Manchester United or if it’s him, but he doesn’t look happy.

“His body language on the pitch is something that he could focus on. Form is temporary and class is permanent, so he will come back to his best as he’s a class player, but I think if he applies himself to be positive with his body language, how he plays and everything else daily, I’m sure we’ll see an improvement from him.”
