Lee Carsley insists he is not focused on his long-term future with England ahead of their UEFA Nations League clash with Finland on Tuesday.
The Three Lions return to Wembley for the first time since they were defeated by Spain in the Euro 2024 final, ending Gareth Southgate's eight-year tenure in charge.
Young Lions boss Carsley has taken charge on an interim basis through the end of the year, and oversaw a 2-0 victory against the Republic of Ireland in his first game.
But speaking ahead of his side's next clash, where captain Harry Kane will win his 100th cap, he has steered clear of speculaion over whether he will get the job permanently.
"I think it's quite clear [that] I am doing the three camps [during the autumn international breaks]," he said. "I'm really happy with that.
"If it changes, also, I'm happy with that. I'm very privileged in the position I'm in. I have enjoyed it so far.
"The important that is the team as opposed to the coaches. They should be the ones in the spotlight and getting the attention.
"I feel like we are a step closer as a team. I try not to think about [the permanent job] too much.
"The best person should get the job. I know my role for the next three camps, and I am comfortable with that."
Carsley will take charge in both October and November for the remaining Nations League fixtures, which includes trips to Helsinki and Athens, in Greece.
