Aston Villa climbed into third place in the Premier League standings after defeating Manchester City 1-0 on Wednesday.
Leon Bailey scored in the 74th minute to give Villa the victory and allow the team to leapfrog past the defending treble winners into the top three, but the score could've been higher for the Villans as they outshot their visitors 22-2.
Regardless, the turbulence among the frontrunning teams continues, and for Bailey a result like Wednesday's is one to remember.
"It's very special," Bailey told Amazon Prime. "On a night like this it's even more special. To get the win, to score the goal, it's a magnificent feeling.
"I can't put it into words how I feel right now. We showed great character and worked extremely hard to get these three points."
The Jamaica international admitted to a prolonged personal adjustment period at Villa Park when he joined the side from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, but he credits the manager and team staff for helping him turn things around.
"I struggled during my first season but I knew what I was capable of," he said. "People believed in me. I'm here to help as much as possible, and I'm so grateful to be able to do that.
"[Unai Emery] has been amazing. His way of doing things is different. He knows exactly what he wants. Day in and day out he knows what he's doing to help up get the three points.
"It was a great game. A great night for the fans. A great night for Aston Villa."
