Reds could lose top star next summer.

If Trent Alexander-Arnold does depart Liverpool next summer, Graeme Souness thinks the club already has a ready-made replacement for the England star.

The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and there is some speculation he could leave Merseyside for a move to Real Madrid.

However, speaking on William Hill’s new podcast, Three Up Front, the former Reds midfielder has pinpointed who in the current Liverpool set-up could fill Alexander-Arnold's boots.

“Arne Slot brought Conor Bradley off the bench against both Brentford and Manchester United,” said Souness.

“He’s a proper player. Slot may have just wanted to give him a feel for what it’s like to play at Old Trafford, to keep him onside. He’s giving Bradley a few minutes and just making sure he’s happy.

“He’s certainly taking a good look at Bradley. It’s forward planning from Slot. He’s been told he’s good enough for the first team and he wants to see that for himself."

Liverpool are back in action after the international break when they host Nottingham Forest at Anfield.
