United have endured plenty of transfer mistakes.

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes that Jadon Sancho is one of the club’s “biggest transfer failures.”

The England international arrived from Borussia Dortmund with huge expectations owing to his performances in the Bundesliga, and the transfer fee of £73 million.

However, he has failed to find a regular vein of form since his arrival in 2021, and he is now set to rejoin Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season, and unless there is a fundamental change in United’s approach to the 23-year-old, he seems set to leave for good in the summer.

United have made some huge errors in the transfer market since the retirement of Alex Ferguson, with players such as Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba costing large transfer fees but doing too little to justify the outlays.

Speaking to Paddy Power, Saha thinks that Sancho deserves to be mentioned as one of United’s biggest transfer mistakes.

He said: “Jadon Sancho is one of Manchester United’s biggest transfer failures – you can't have that type of quality sidelined because of his mindset. You can’t leave him out for six months because of that. The only thing that should stop you is injuries.

“We know that he is good enough, which is why it doesn’t sit right. You can’t be putting yourself in that situation and thinking that you are bigger than the manager. Whatever happens, I don’t back Sancho – which is hard for me as a supporter of United. It’s just horrendous.”
