This season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League, which fans can watch the conclusion of on DAZN’s YouTube channel, has been a tournament to remember.
With just three matches remaining before a champion is crowned in Turin, it’s time to look back on some of the standout moments.
One such moment being the record crowds at the Camp Nou where defending champions Barcelona have shown no signs of loosening the grip on the trophy and after a 5-1 win over Wolfsburg in the first leg of their semi-final tie in Spain, Jonatan Giráldez’s team have put themselves in a strong position to reach the final.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with DAZN News, Manchester City women’s defender Demi Stokes stated that the huge attendances during this season’s competition shows that fans care about the women’s game.
“When we first played United that was over 30,000, it is doable,” Stokes said.
“People do care about women’s football, that’s definitely where we want to get to.
“I don’t play for Barcelona but it’s so good to see and you’ve just got to look at it and think ‘If they’re doing it, what can we do also to jump on that and get equally as good crowds.’”
The second semi-final between French rivals Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain is finely poised with Lyon holding a slender 3-2 lead going into Saturday's second leg in Paris and Stokes backs the seven-time European champions to win the competition for an eighth time come May 21.
“I think they’ve [Barcelona] been really good, but I’m going to go with my gut and I’m going to say Lyon-Barcelona in the final, and Lyon to win.”
