A wild, seven-goal FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday ended with Mancester United coming away 4-3 winners against Liverpool.

The match needed extra time to be decided as the teams traded goals throughout the 120 minutes, although Liverpool will feel particularly aggrieved as they were just moments away from claiming victory inside the initial 90 minutes.

Instead, it was late heroics by Antony, Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo that boosted the Red Devils past their rivals, with Diallo's match-winner coming in the 121st minute.

It was the kind of result that could a catalyst for a Man United team trying to re-establish themselves among the elite in England.

A successful run in the FA Cup would help in that regard.

"We have a young squad, they need time and when they have the chance to play they have to show they have the quality to play for Manchester United," Red Devils captian Bruno Fernandes told ITV.

"We always have belief, the problem is we have not been consistent with our performances. We give 100% we always give everything but at this club we always have to have high standards. It's a part of the game to be criticised, that's why you play for Manchester United.

"This season has not been at the level we want but we want to improve. We have always said our goal was to get into the top four and try to win the FA Cup, we will do all we can for those goals. The FA Cup is a big trophy for this club."
