United's manager is under pressure.

Despite a brilliant win over Liverpool in the FA Cup before the international break, doubts still surround the future of Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager.

The Dutchman has endured a tough season at Old Trafford, but there’s hope that the victory over their biggest rivals can provide a platform to push on.

One issue that could impact Ten Hag is the constant speculation linking Gareth Southgate to the job.

The current England manager is currently focusing on Euro 2024 following two average performances against Brazil and Belgium, but Wes Brown, a former United player, has urged his ex club to give Ten Hag more time.

“I like Erik ten Hag and I feel he needs to be given a little bit more time with transfers this summer,” said Brown when speaking to Instant Casinos.

“Gareth’s got a massive tournament to focus on and it’ll be a competition that he wants to win particularly with the squad that we have, so we don’t know what’s going to happen after that.

“I’m sure Gareth has got other things on his mind rather than thinking about next season with a club like Manchester United, but you never know in football when new owners like Jim Ratcliffe come in.”
