Mark Lawrenson believes Arsenal will win the Premier League this season.
The Gunners haven't won the league in two decades, although they finished as runners-up to Manchester City in the two most recent campaigns.
Lawrenson, a retired defender who helped Liverpool win five league crowns in the 1980s, pointed to Arsenal's stingy defence as a reason for his optimism about Mikel Arteta's side.
However, he feels that it will be the Gunners' commitment to finding more scoring that will finally push them over the edge.
“I think that Arsenal can finally pip Manchester City to the title this season," Lawrenson told Paddy Power.
"They’ve got better season by season. Mikel Arteta is a driven man, and nearly all of the players there are players he has brought in.
“Signing Riccardo Calafiori as well, they will hardly concede. Scoring has been a little bit of a problem for them, but I think they’ll sign a striker before the end of the transfer window. That could be what secures them the Premier League title.”
