Former Chelsea defender William Gallas believes that his old side can get at least a point from their upcoming match against Newcastle.
The Londoners travel north for their first game back since the end of the international break, and while there have been occasional green shoots under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, they are yet to fully convince.
Newcastle have had their own ups and downs, but look to be credible challengers for a top-four finish under manager Eddie Howe.
Nevertheless, Gallas thinks Chelsea will avoid defeat.
Speaking to Genting Casino : “I don’t know why, but I’m not worried about Chelsea going to St. James’ Park on Saturday. Newcastle don’t look as good as they did last season.
“OK, they beat Arsenal one nil, but then they lost their next two games to Dortmund and Bournemouth. Maybe because they are playing in the Champions League, I don’t think their performances are the same as last season. I think Chelsea will get something from that game.
“They should be looking to come back to London with a point at least. I can’t see them losing that game.”
